THE DAY WE KEPT THE WORLD TURNING

What went into making Y2K a "non-event"

This is a place to collect the stories of the people who worked on the Y2K issues. The business world pulled out all the stops to keep human operations from stopping, and I'd like to record the stories of the people who did the actual work.
If you were part of the Y2K effort, if you wrote, designed or QA'd the code; if you managed a team, or worked as an independent contractor, whatever your role, if you were 'in the trenches' during the rush to rewrite faulty code before 1/1/2000;  I'd love to hear your story.
I'm using the blog on this site as a series of prompts. My intention is to help trigger memories, in the hopes you will share your stories in the comments.  Thank you in advance for participating.
